Grooving for the Camera!

SPOTTED:  Groove Girl spotted on the beach with models and photographers.  What are they doing?  I'll never tell (just kidding)!

So, this past Friday we put on our first photo shoot!  It was amazing, so much fun, exhilarating and exhausting.  I remember precisely when I was first mesmerized by the excitement of a photo shoot. I had just popped in my brand new VHS of "Passport to Paris" with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and was super jealous of them running around in the streets of Pairs with their new bestie, the French supermodel.  "Attitude, attitude, attitude always" was a quote my cousin and I would tell each other as we practiced our own photo shoot poses and faces.

Well, let me tell you!  My inner tween was reeling when I found out that I was going to help put together an actual photo shoot for Groove Footwear!  Through the years, thanks to reality TV, I have gotten a better understanding of all the work that goes into it (thank goodness! I used to think it was all fun and smiles).  Even so, it was pretty crazy getting everything planned, organized, approved, coordinated, and executed.  

First, we had to figure out which shoes we wanted to use and what style went along with each pair.  I LOVE Pinterest (I hope you're following our boards!) and had so much fun finding 'pinspiration' for the different looks! We booked our fabulous models, Kristen and Litta, and our makeup artist JJ.  Our awesome photography team, phillipvn.com Photography, did an amazing job keeping up as we ran all around Huntington Beach all day.

In the morning,  I took all of the outfits and laid them out in sequence, according to location and model...I'm a perfectionist when it comes to organization.  We got the models in their first outfit, grabbed all of the clothes, shoes, accessories and we were off!!  Watching Phillip directing the girls and getting down and dirty (sometimes laying on his stomach in the street!) to get the perfect shot was so exciting to watch....it was like I always thought being on set of a photo shoot would be!! Organized chaos :)

Between helping with quick changes, coordinating and making sure everyone was in the right outfit, I was taking behind the scenes videos and pictures too!  I am now currently working on an 'insider look' video from the shoot that I will be posting soon! 

In the end, all of the work and stress paid off resulting in AMAZING final photos (like the one below) that we are so proud of!!! Everyone involved: Thank you so much for your work and you're fabulous!
